Another New Low: Michael Reagan Compares President Obama To Jerry Sandusky

Last Thursday, Michael Reagan — adopted son of former President Ronald Reagan — wrote a disturbing response to President Obama’s executive order that halted deportation of illegal immigrants that met the requirements of the DREAM Act. While it was to be expected that conservatives would throw their tantrums, Michael Reagan crossed the line in his column at The Cagle Post. Throughout the article, he refers to the President as “Emperor Obama,” and calls his executive order a purely political move to gain the Latino vote, claiming that “Emperor Obama obviously could not care less about helping the Latino population.”

But it was towards the end of his column where Reagan made his atrocious comparison: “Now he’s doing to Latinos what Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky allegedly did to the children of Pennsylvania — using and abusing them.”

On Friday, Sandusky was convicted for 45 of 48 counts of child sexual abuse.

For Michael Reagan to compare Obama — a leader giving young illegal immigrants a chance to succeed and prosper in America — to Sandusky, a child molester facing a possible life sentence, is reprehensible, disgusting, and inappropriately disrespectful.

It should be noted that in 1986, Ronald Reagan signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act, which gave amnesty to nearly 3 million illegal immigrants. I’m sure the former President of the United States wouldn’t be proud of what his son has had to say today.
